What information do I need to provide for a Pre-made book cover design?
After you purchase the book cover of your choice, you will be re-directed to a design brief page where you will fill out IMPORTANT information regarding your pre-made book cover design.
One thing to keep in mind is if you’re ordering a pre-made cover design package, that also includes a print cover design, you will need to send additional information for the back cover, which includes a synopsis, author bio (optional), author photo (optional), exact page count, and interior paper color (white or cream). These last two items are needed to calculate the spine width of your book cover.
In order for me to prepare the best possible design for you, please give detailed instructions. Color suggestions, images, sketches, moodboards, or screenshots of ideas you like are welcomed. They can be attached to your order message, or sent to me by email at hello@itsawrapdesigns.com
What information do I need to provide for a Custom made book cover design?
Before purchasing your book cover, you will be directed to a design brief page where you will fill out and submit IMPORTANT information regarding your custom made book cover design.
One thing to keep in mind is if you’re ordering a custom made cover design package that also includes a print cover you will need to send additional information for the back cover. This would include a synopsis, author bio (optional), author photo (optional), exact page count, and interior paper color (white or cream). These last two items are needed to calculate the spine width of your book cover.

After your design brief has been reviewed by It’s A Wrap Designs you will receive a confirmation message and also an invoice from Paypal, where a 50% deposit will be due before beginning your cover design. After payment, you can expect to see your first proof within 7 days.
Do I need to provide a photo for the design?
You can provide a photo if you have copyright permission and it is a high quality image, but it is not necessary. I will purchase high quality royalty free stock photos for you. These images come with a license for commercial use, for your cover with any of the packages offered here at It’s A Wrap Designs.
Can I use google searched images?
Never use google searched images. They are generally low quality files, but the biggest reason is because there is a large probability they are copyrighted. For more information see the question “what is copyright infringement?” below.
What is copyright infringement?
According to Wikipedia, Copyright infringement is the use of works protected by copyright law without permission, infringing certain exclusive rights granted to the copyright holder. Heavy legal penalties can occur when using a copyrighted image.
Do you offer hand drawn illustrated book cover design?
No. My hand drawn illustration skills are not offered on this site. I use high quality, professionally licensed stock images (photos and digital illustrations) for my design work here.
Do you provide a proof?
Yes, It is my practice to always send a proof for approval. Pre-made covers are usually approved at the first proof stage. I have found that Custom made cover designs, in most instances, are approved within three revisions. Please make sure to respond with approval or any revisions within 3 days of receiving your proofs.
Can I get a 3D image/model of my book?
Yes, as a thank you for your patronage, I will include a 3D rendered image of your book cover, at no additional cost to you, to be used for online promotion of your book.
What is a source file?
A source file is the original native file where your design is created with layers of information that can be edited for future use.
Can I purchase a source file?
Unfortunately, there are licensing restrictions associated to stock photography and font usage, which does not allow for the selling of these native files. I always archive all book cover files, so if you need any additional help with revisions after completion please contact me.
What type of payment do you accept?
Paypal is our preferred method of payment. Credit cards are also accepted through Paypal as well.
Do you offer additional design services?
Additional services could include Website and Social Media Banners, Website and Social Media Ads, Bookmarks, etc. If you are in need of additional services, just contact me and we’ll get what you need.
Do you offer writing, formatting, or editing services?

Is there a difference in the quality of a pre-made book cover design and a custom made book cover design?
Pre-made book covers are built with the same unique intent as a custom made book cover, and will meet your self publishing service providers required specifications.
Besides the title and author name, can you make other changes to a pre-made cover design?
Simple tweaks can be made to a pre-made book cover, like a font change, simple color changes, possibly moving text around.
What if I find a pre-made design that looks great for my book cover, but I need to add a few extras?
If elements need to be moved or added to the existing pre-made cover, it would be considered a custom build. It’s best to get in touch with us to discuss your needs.
Do You resell pre-made book covers?
No. Once a pre-made book cover is sold, it is your unique cover alone. It is then taken off the list of available book covers to purchase. Never to be sold again.
What is your refund policy for PRE-MADE book covers?
Please be aware, if you are purchasing a PRE-MADE book cover design, make sure that you are completely satisfied with it before purchase, as these covers are designed to be a one time purchased item and will be removed from the available list of Pre-mades, never to be available again online. No refunds, or exchanges will be given for Pre-made book covers.
What is your refund policy for CUSTOM MADE book covers?
If you are purchasing a CUSTOM MADE book cover design, It’s A Wrap Designs will work with you to create a unique book cover that will meet your needs. We are confident that we can provide you with a design that you will be totally satisfied with. If not we can discuss cancellation and refunding during proofing sessions, prior to final payment and delivery of your final book cover file.
If a cancellation does occur, It’s A Wrap Designs owns the rights to this book cover. The design can be used only by us for designing purposes in any way we see fit.
I need an eBook cover and a print book cover but I don’t have all the details for the print book yet. What should I do?
If your print book is NOT close to a finishing point yet, you may want to order the eBook and print book separately. It’s A Wrap Designs will honor the package price for the combined eBook and Print book package, but a separate invoice will need to be sent out individually for these items. Please contact me first before ordering.
If your print book IS close to being finished, we can start on the eBook and start proofing the front cover design first and then move onto the print cover when you have retrieved the information needed to proceed with the print book cover design.
What about the ISBN number?
Each publishing service provider has their own rules about ISBN#s. Amazon KDP will place an ISBN# for you after you upload your final file to them. But, other providers, like IngramSpark may require that you provide your own ISBN#. You will need to contact your specific providers to find out their specifications on this. If they do want you to provide your own ISBN# and have it included on the back cover design, you will need to purchase and supply the barcode graphical element file to me for placement on the back cover.
Should I credit the book cover artist?
This is totally up to you. It is not a requirement to give credit to the cover artist, but is always appreciated if you do so. Please use Cover design by itsawrapdesigns.com. Thank you very much.
The page count for my print book has changed, can you re-adjust it?
As long as we are still working on your file, we can make a page count adjustment for you. If the book cover has been finalized and delivered to you, there will be a small fee to make that adjustment.
