As a child and teen Helene pursued “show business”, however it didn’t pursue her.
In her twenties she was a Stewardess until her title was changed to Flight Attendant.
In her thirties she became a coat room checker for three Manhattan night clubs (long story). She eventually became one of the managers for two of those clubs while also performing, directing and waitressing.
For a couple of years in her forties she ran a chiropractic office but her forty-fifth birthday was also her first day of nursing school. The rest of her forties, fifties and some of her sixties were spent as an RN.
And now in her seventies she has written her first children’s book, a labor of love entitled “Dear Drifter”, which could also be the title of her life so far. She wonders what she’ll be in her eighties.
